In Search of Hen's Teeth

Dr Goodwin Appleton searched the remote villages of Italy for a sample of the much sought after, 'Hen's Teeth'. He finally found an old lady who had a brood of the rare chickens that sported the unusual feature. They had very large and robust beaks that had sharp little nodules along the inside edge. The village cured the beaks in brine which blackened the jaw bone and teeth, they then painted the teeth gold and wore them as charms to ward off creatures of the dark...This photo was taken by Goodwin Appleton of Bea standing next to the owner of the Hens with Teeth.

A Day in the Snow

It was the first time the children of the circus had seen snow - taking time out from their demanding gymnastic training, they made this snowman on the front lawn. Claude lent his cap and Clara her shawl to decorate the forlorn creature.

Bearded Betty's Birthday

Bearded Betty made a comfortable living being a sideshow freak. Customers would pay a dollar to enter the "Curiosa Room" and watch her sing while she stroked her beard. This photo was taken on her 21st Birthday, at the Home Roost restaurant, as she was about to cut into the cake. The night was long remembered as it was filled with treats and non-stop party games.

Relocating from one end of the country to the other has put Pigeon Circus in a bit of disarray as it's human half struggles to find employment and keep on top of bills... meaning the construction of marvelous and interesting trinkets & jewelery has slowed right down... So what to do when the creative machine is still churning but the funds aren't there to keep it alive? ... Zazzle!

The Pigeon Circus graphics department has been full steam ahead, as new designs are feed into the Zazzle machine. T-Shirts, Mugs, Posters, Magnets and much more are being emblazoned with Pigeon Circus goodness and hurrah.... the human doesn't need to spend a cent!
